I'm gonna open by saying - I have come here MULTIPLE, multiple times. It's my go-to Korean restaurant in Carrollton & my girlfriend also loves it. :) I must also apologize for giving 4 stars before...not sure why. Anyways! Interior ambiance - really roomy and homey. Gives a family style restaurant type feel. :) Wait time is not too long usually - the menu features multiple soup options and main dishes. I almost always get the seafood tofu soup + bulgogi beef, very good pricing for the portions you get. Free sides come with the dishes, of course! The tofu soup - oooooo so soft. I really love the seafood soup broth too, feels rich and not too heavy. Seafood is well portioned and the soup comes with rice which pairs every well. Bulgogi is a little sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Plentiful portion size on that too. I come back often and will keep doing so! Great place :) PROS: - parking is easy - roomy interior and ambiance - staff are friendly and quick - food portions are great for the price - tofu soup is so soft and broth is yummy CONS: - none! :)
Amazing side dishes and great tofu soup! I got the seafood and beef combination and it was fantastic. You get the best of both worlds! In addition, the seafood pancake was delicious too, highly recommend ordering it as an appetizer. Value: 8.5/10 Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Experience: 8.5/10
The cold noodles here are so fucking good I've thought about it for 3 years. The first time I came here was 3 years ago and still to this day it's the best cold noodles I've ever had and I've dreamed about coming back to Dallas just for this. Finally back 3 years later and it still tastes as good as I remember. The broth is so flavorful and I love the sweetness of it. The banchan (sides) they have here are also good and I like how there are different things from other Korean restaurants.
One of the most flavorful soft tofu soup in DFW! Cho Dang has expanded their business over the last year to now having another location in Plano and even opening their own banchan (Korean side dish) store called Jinsu Korean Food Catering in Carrollton. Their expansion is the testament to their delicious homely cooked Korean Food. You have to try their soft tofu soup! (5/5) Seafood Tofu Soup They don't skimp on the protein here! Seafood version comes with oyster, shrimp (skin on) and clam. I got level 4 spicy and it was just the perfect amount of heat and the broth has soooo much flavor. (4.5/5) Oyster Tofu Soup If you love oysters, you must order this one. Meaty oysters and their texture when cooked almost resemble that of tofu and pairs well together. I still preferred seafood though as it had a bit more depth. (4/5) Cold Arrowroot Noodles Cho Dang actually specializes in these cold noodles as well on top of tofu soup. The cold broth had a lot of flavor with slightly tart, beefy, and light palate. The noodles are chewy (as they should be) and it's really refreshing.
Check out this hidden gem. We went at 2pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. We waited maybe 5 minutes for a table. The inside wasn't small but also not big. The decor looked shabby, but do not be alarmed. The food is really good. We got water and barley tea--not my favorite, but not bad. The hot tea was served in a plastic drinking cup which was a bit odd. The tea itself smelled earthy and of hay, but it had a mild flavor. We ordered the kimchi and green onion pancake and the combo of spicy pork bulgogi and the bibimbap. Pay the dollar to get it in the hot stone. Everything was delicious. I am a huge spicy bulgogi fan and this didn't disappoint. The banchan came with a mini, whole fried fish, along with kimchi, daikon, glass noodles and a few other things. Service is questionable. Never got refills of water, but if you are eating at an authentic restaurant, please accept the service to be questionable. Do not expect the service of an American steakhouse.
Authentic Korean BBQ and they're famous for Tofu Soup with Fish eggs, the best in town. We're regular here and love their complimentary pre-course with fried small fish, so good. The service is good, all staff members are helping and serving with smiles. The environment is set like you're seating in traditional Korean garden. Nice ambiance.
I decided to try Cho Dang Village after a great recommendation from someone who said it was better than my go-to spot, BCD. I was super excited to give it a try! We ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap and the Seafood Beef Tofu Soup/Soondubu + Beef Bulgogi Combo. The banchan was standard but tasty. The soup that came with the Bibimbap had a very mild flavor. The bibimbap itself was also good, but mediocre. For the Soondubu, so I usually stick to Vegetable Soondubu but wanted to try something different this time. While it was good, I wouldn't choose this combination again. The soup had a milder flavor compared to BCD, and even though I ordered a level 4 out of 5 for spiciness, it wasn't spicy at all--which was a little disappointing since I love spicy food. The bulgogi, however, was my favorite! I loved how it wasn't drenched in marinade, and the flavor was perfectly balanced. It was cooked just right and made the whole meal worthwhile. Their hot tea was also a nice touch. From my first experience, I personally think that Cho Dang Village has a more light and mild taste to their foods which isn't a bad thing to me. I usually like mild foods, but BCD's Soondubu has a lot of flavor, but the good kind of flavor. Overall, I do plan to come back and stick with my usual Vegetable Soondubu to really compare it to BCD. For now, I still prefer BCD because their soup is spicier and has more flavor overall. Service and ambiance were what you'd expect from a typical Korean restaurant--nothing standout, but solid and consistent. I'm glad I gave it a shot and look forward to trying more here.
I love Cho Dang Village. Every time someone I knows goes to Dallas I always recommend this place to them. Tucked in the corner part of Hmart area in Carrolton, it's a little easier to get parking too. They have a generous amount of banchan and the food comes out quickly. I ordered the pork kimchi soondubu and it was delicious. They give you rice to eat with it and after you finish the rice, they'll pour tea into it for you. We also got the bibimbap and its pretty big portion. I personally would just splurge and get the hotstone because the crispy rice texture is delicious. Spicy pork there is delicious too and the kimchi pancake is also amazing. I've been going to this place for years and it never fails me.
Absolutely amazing. Service was great and attentive. Portions were massive, was not too pricey. Soups and meat were perfectly seasoned, not too salty. Great big space , we had 16 people they were able to fit us in a private room.
